Background
I worked part-time at YAHAHA Studio as the lead UX designer. On this project, I collaborated with a junior product designer, two software engineers, and a product manager.
My responsibilities included overseeing the entire design process, from UX research and concept development to prototyping and usability testing, as well as branding identity design.
Problem Statement
Context:
The traditional game industry ecosystem is dominated by large game companies and conventional distribution channels, making it difficult for independent creators to succeed.
Challenges:
The primary challenge was to create an intuitive and accessible platform for 3D content creation that would attract both beginners and professionals.
MVP Focus:
The MVP needed to demonstrate the core value proposition of the platform with limited resources and time.

By democratizing game creation, YAHAHA empowers individual creators and small teams to produce and distribute their content without relying on conventional channels.
Mission Statement:
“YAHAHA’s mission is to democratize 3D content creation and consumption. Building on the native UGC user base of Roblox, we aim to usher in a true era of UGC through global co-creation by developers, allowing social interactions and content consumption to take place in a more creative and immersive virtual world.”

Design Principle
1. Clear and concise
The design language is clear and simple, highlighting the main content. Proper spacing, bright colours and contrasting fonts make the information easier to navigate and read.
2. High quality with detail
Focus on texture to achieve design purpose, style and differentiation. Pixellevel control of the entire layout and maintain a uniform design specification.
3. Professional efficiency
A minimalist linear style is used across the board to focus on the creator’s game content, leaving the stage to the player’s imagination.
